Create a QuickBooks customer from a lead
Published September 26, 2017 · Product update
We heard from many users who wanted to create a customer in QuickBooks directly from CrikSales—so we built it. It works for both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop (Pro, Premier, and Enterprise).
Before you start: To use this feature, you must be on at least our Sales Force package. You also need to contact us so we can turn the feature on in your CrikSales site. There is no additional charge for this capability.
Leads themselves are available in CrikSales’s Sales Force and Full Circle packages.
How it works
First, create a lead in CrikSales. When you are ready to convert the lead to a customer, click Convert to customer.
You will see a few choices. If you do not see the option to Create New Customer in QuickBooks, contact us so we can configure your site to enable it.
Customer already exists in QuickBooks
If this company is already in QuickBooks, you should not add it again. Choose Convert to a customer who is already in CrikSales (the middle option). That moves all contacts, notes, attachments, and opportunities from the lead onto the customer record you select in CrikSales, then removes the lead.
Create a new QuickBooks customer from the lead
If you want a new customer record in QuickBooks for this lead, choose Create New Customer in QuickBooks (the first button). You will be asked to confirm that you want to create a new customer in QuickBooks.
After you confirm, a new customer is created in CrikSales and all contacts, notes, attachments, and opportunities move from the lead to that new CrikSales customer. CrikSales then opens the screen for the new customer record.
- QuickBooks Online: Within about five minutes, the new customer appears in QuickBooks.
- QuickBooks Desktop: The new customer appears the next time your CISM sync runs.
